Trial for amendment of Article 11 of the Nationality Law
Under the current Japanese Nationality Law, a person "automatically" loses Japanese nationality if he/she voluntarily acquires the nationality of another country.
Now, plaintiffs living in Switzerland and other countries are fighting in court to amend this. I think this is an important trial for those of us living in the US.
There is a petition campaign on change.org to amend Article 11 of the Nationality Law. Currently, about 43,000 votes have been collected, but it would be great if more people would sign the petition. The next trial will be held in September. By the way, I am an individual and not a member of this association.

Q1 I am Japanese, can I return to Japan?
（ Answer ） There are no restrictions on leaving the Netherlands or returning to Japan. Please refer to Q2 and Q3 for quarantine measures for returning to Japan.


Q2 If a Japanese national is returning to Japan from the Netherlands, is it necessary to take a PCR test etc. and obtain a test certificate before departure from the Netherlands?
（ Answer ） All persons returning from abroad are required to obtain a test certificate within 72 hours prior to departure. all persons who plan to board a flight entering Japan after March 19, 2021 （ Fri. Please be advised that you will be denied boarding if you do not have an inspection certificate in accordance with the new measures （ 9 ） dated March 5, 2021 for the enhancement of waterfront measures. Please refer to Q3 for quarantine measures after returning to your country.
